This class will have a maximum number of skaters able to attend, so sign up before it's full!
Basic Edge Dynamics
This is a 30 minute on-ice class that introduces beginning skaters to fundamental edges, balance, and posture. The curriculum will work on using inside and outside edges, focusing on knee/ankle bend and body alignment to start developing control for turns and stops. This class is designed to help get beginning skaters comfortable on their blades, understand edge pressure, and improve the quality of every glide. A small amount of time is dedicated to warm up and learning presentation on ice.
This class is open to skaters in LTS Basic 2 - 4
Advanced Edge Dynamics
This is a 30 minute on-ice class that focuses primarily on edge work. The curriculum focuses on edge control, power, proper body alignment, and flow on the ice. With these exercises skaters will demonstrate improved edge quality, endurance, greater overall freedom of movement, and foundational qualities that are required for Skating Skills tests (formerly Moves in the Field), jump entries, and spin preparation. A small amount of time is dedicated to warm up and learning presentation on ice.
This class is open to skaters in LTS Basic 5 and above
Eligibility
Skaters with some experience and a desire to work hard in the early mornings are welcome to attend! Group may be split into two depending on the skill and style of skaters who register.
